The Foscari family are fundamental founders of the Cloak, and many of them kept detailed journals - most of which have been remarkably preserved. The sheer volume of materials which still requires careful study, attribution, and organization is mind boggling and dense.

They say that when a person dies, their entire life flashes before their eyes. For me, it is very nearly the opposite. When I die, darkness advances and sound abandons me. Then comes the flash. It splits the void like lightning behind closed eyes.
